Synthesis of Ecofriendly Silver Nanoparticles Using Coccinia grandis (L.) Voigt Extract: Experimental and Theoretical Studies

The silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are synthesized by various methods and seem to be very hazardous the ecosystem expensive. Hence, present study aimed synthesize homogeneous using Coccinia grandis (L.) Voigt leaf extract with procedures non-toxic, eco-friendly. formation of biologically AgNPs was characterized UV-Visible spectrophotometer (UV-Vis) transmission electron microscope (TEM) techniques. observed visually color change solution from yellow reddish-brown. UV-Vis spectroscopy showed maximum absorbance wavelength Ag0 at 469 nm. TEM demonstrated an average particle diameter 19.02 nm clearly indicated shape in is spherical well dispersed. density functional theory (DFT) studies reveal that quercetin behaves as a reducing agent for reduction Ag+ ions into Ag0. This research opens up new options synthesis size-controlled, large-scale, biocompatible inexpensive non-toxic stabilizing agent.
